Theatre Statesville is excited to announce the auditions for our summer show, Disney’s Descendants: The Musical!

ABOUT:
Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island… until now. When the four troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good? Based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movies, Disney’s Descendants: The Musical is jam-packed with comedy, adventure, Disney characters, and hit songs from the films!
AUDITION DETAILS:
Sunday, April 19th @ 7pm and Monday, April 20th @ 7pm. You only need to attend one night of auditions. Potential callbacks will take place on Tuesday, April 21st. Auditions will take place at Centre Ballet (922 Davie Ave, Statesville).
-The creative team is opening auditions to anyone interested, no age requirements.
-Performances are scheduled for: 06/19-06/21 and 06/25-06/28, 2026 for a total of seven performances.
-Regular rehearsals are generally on Sunday, Mon, Tues and Thursday evenings. This may alter dependent on cast availability.
WHAT TO PREPARE:
-Prepare a 30-60 second memorized song that shows off your vocal range as well as your ability to act while singing. Be sure it is something you enjoy singing and make it fun! You will need to bring an accompaniment track (karaoke tracks to a lot of songs can be found on YouTube). A Bluetooth speaker will be provided. A cappella auditions are permitted but not preferred. We will also have a piano accompanist available if you want to bring sheet music.
-Please come ready to dance! You do not need to prepare ahead of time as our choreographer will teach at the audition. Please dress for movement, wearing clothing and shoes that allow you to comfortably and safely move (dance shoes are not needed).
-Once you’ve auditioned with your song, we will have you read part of the script. This is your chance to show off your acting skills and make strong choices through reading. Through hearing you read lines from the show, we will get to see how you interpret characters and how you bring emotion to the lines! There’s no right or wrong way to interpret lines in an audition, so go for it!

Please fill out this Audition Interest Form prior to auditions. We will also have forms available at auditions but would like to get a head count prior if possible so we can better prepare.
